Our Journey with First Class Facilities
If you’ve dealt with portable toilets, washroom trailers, or septic services on Vancouver Island, you already know the problem. Bad service. Hard to reach. Expensive. Long contracts. Missed appointments. That was our experience too.
Brennan and I met during university as roommates in the same house. We’ve both spent most of our working lives in customer-facing businesses, like restaurants, cafes, hospitality and banking. Places where you only survive if you actually care about the person on the other side of the counter.
A few things happened around the same time that pushed us to act.
Brennan was planning his wedding and tried to find a decent washroom trailer. There really weren’t any good options. Nothing that felt clean, well run, or reliable. At the same time, we were running restaurants and dealing with grease trap and septic companies that were late, unprofessional, overpriced, or just didn’t show up. And when WCB announced new rules requiring flushing toilets and proper handwashing on job sites, it was obvious the Island wasn’t ready. The industry was stale and outdated.
We had recently sold Panago and taken over Duncan Garage Café & Bakery. That business had strong partners operating it day-to-day, which gave us room to build something new from the ground up! Something we could do properly.
So we started First Class Facilities!
Portable sanitation doesn’t have to be miserable to deal with. It should be clean, dependable, fairly priced, and run by people who answer the phone and do what they say they’ll do.
That’s literally it.

We’re a local, Vancouver Island owned and operated company based in the Cowichan Valley. Our team lives here. Our clients are here. And the money stays here.
We don’t run things through call centres or automated systems. When you call us, you talk to real people!. We show up when we say we will. Our pricing is straightforward. Our contracts are simple.
We take the same approach we learned in hospitality and apply it to an industry that hasn’t changed in decades. We think that it’s more important than ever to run your business with a hospitality mindset. We take pride in running a business that also follows a triple bottom line mindset: caring about people, the planet and then profits. As we grow, our ability to serve our community grows with us.

- Grease trap servicing for restaurants and food trucks
- RV septic pumping
- Worksite and office washroom cleaning
Where We’re Going
Right now, we serve most of Vancouver Island! Our plan is simple: keep expanding coverage while keeping service standards high. Bigger fleet. Better equipment. More local jobs. More community support.
We’re not trying to be the biggest overnight. We’re building something solid and long-term, making a lasting impact in the communities we serve.
